Dr.-Ing. Mark Mainz (PMP®)

The company owner, Dr.-Ing. Mark Mainz (PMP®), has more than 20 years of professional experience as a civil engineer and project manager. His training includes various degrees starting with a diploma in Civil Engineering, a master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Wales, a business degree, a PhD in Engineering at the renowned RWTH Aachen University as well as an internationally recognized certificate as Project Management Professional (PMP®). He is registered with the Chamber of Engineers in North Rhine-Westphalia as a Consulting Engineer. In addition, Mr. Mainz has also completed advanced training in the field of mediation and is a Personal Coach certified by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Düsseldorf.

His career in engineering began with solving geotechnical problems in the engineering office Prof. Dieler und Partner. After completing his master’s degree, Dr. Mainz worked for the engineering consultancy Heitfeld & Schetelig GmbH in Aachen. During this time he dealt with various problems of engineering geology. From here, he went to ARCADIS, a large international engineering company, first as a specialist in hydraulic engineering and geotechnics, and later as head of department for general infrastructure planning projects. For the last six years before the company was founded, he gained extensive experience in the execution of large-scale projects and leadership (with up to 65 employees) at Drees & Sommer, a leading company in project management in the construction industry in Germany. His final position was Head of the Energy Branche within the company.

In October 2019, Mainz Consulting GmbH was founded. The guiding principle of the young company is to manage your projects in a solution-oriented, economical and, at the same time, ecologically sustainable as well as in trusting cooperation and bring them successfully to their goal.

Jana Walkemeyer (B.A.)

Ms Jana Walkemeyer (B.A.) is a part-time project manager at the Mainz Consulting GmbH. She has a joint bachelor’s degree from the University of Applied Sciences in Saarbrücken (htw saar) and the Université de Lorraine in business administration and about 4 ½ years of professional experience in project management and consulting.

Her professional career already began during her studies as an intern and then as a student employee at the company Drees & Sommer in Luxembourg. During this time Ms Walkemeyer has worked on various challenging construction projects and gained experience in project management.

After successfully completing her bachelor’s degree, Ms Walkemeyer continued her work at Drees & Sommer, first at the location in Hanover and then in Bremen, as a project manager. During this time, she was particularly involved in document management of a large-scale project (grid connection of offshore wind farms) and, for a time, in cost controlling of a residential construction project.

The change to the Mainz Consulting GmbH followed in July 2021. Here Ms Walkemeyer works in a project related to the establishment of newly founded institutes of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) at the location Sankt Augustin, in the project “Westerwald Lake District renovation measures” by the NABU-foundation “National Natural Heritage” as well as in the project “SuedLink” by TenneT.

In the future, Ms Walkemeyer would like to further expand her knowledge, especially in the area of “Sustainability”, and will therefore start the master’s programme “Sustainability Economics and Management” at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg, one of the leading sustainability degree programmes in Germany, from October 2021.

We support Engineers without Borders and are involved in the German Children’s Hospice Association.
